CIOS PIZZA OWNERS INFO (May 29, 2009)

I just wanted to let you know, if you have ever eaten at Cio's Pizza on Thousand Oaks, in the Frost Bank strip center, and have met the owners, they were living at the Kenton Apts. on Naco/Dreamwood that burned last Sunday night. They lost everything, but they said they are ok. Wanted to let you know in case you can go by and eat so we can help them out by keeping their business going. They advertise in our newsletter, and if you haven't tried them they are wonderful!

Thank you
Stephanie

The lunch buffet at CIO'S PIZZA BUFFET located on Thousand Oaks near Uhr Lane was great! We walked in, paid about $12 total and both started lunch immediately. The taste of food made with freshly prepared ingredients is especially good. Enjoy that in a clean and tidy place with just about everything you need right there. We were in and out fast. It's a perfect stop for an express lunch. We came up from our office at Loop 410 and Broadway and made back in time. Some other customers came in to pick up pizza-to-go while we were there. We may try carry out next time. How about you? "Come hungry - Leave happy!"

We think this is a great idea! We heartily recommend CHECKERS DINER (on Nacogdoches near OConnor Rd)- They provide consistently good home cooking, and an attentive, friendly staff. Did everybody see their recipe for rice pudding featured in this morning's Express News?
For carry-out, we think CHURCH'S is the best for fried chicken.
We are also very fond of the WETMORE DELI (Wetmore Rd near Thousand Oaks)- especially their Reubens and white bean soup.

Every Tuesday, POPEYE'S CHICKEN on Nacogdoches near Oconnor Rd has a special of two pieces for 99 cents. Choose original or spicy. The spicy is definitely spicy. Their cole slaw and key lime pie is also quite good.

Greetings all, Bill Smith and I tried CIO'S PIZZA BUFFET located on Thousand Oaks near Uhr Lane. We were pleased with the food and service. They offer hand tossed Pizza with mini salad bar, bread and dessert. They also offer Take-out buffet, Garlic knots, pasta with marinara or alfredo sauce and brownies. When you first arrive, tell them what toppings you like and they'll make one just for you. It only takes about 10-12 minutes to appear on the pizza bar.

Stephanie sent out an email asking Northern Hills pizza eaters to try the new Cio's Pizza Buffett by the Frost Bank at Thousand Oaks/Uhr. I just did and found the food very good and unbelievably cheap...$4.99 for their buffet, and $4.99 for a whole special-order pizza with everything on it. News of this place should be tacked onto that article about saving money! If you can't manage that, then a mention of it somewhere else would be good.

Just wanted to let everyone know, I just tried the new Cio's Pizza Buffet that opened in the strip center with Frost Bank, on Thousand Oaks. 4332 Thousand Oaks 646-9199. Jack and I really enjoyed it. It is all you can eat pizza, salad and pasta for $4.99 plus tax. The drinks are $1.00 (they have tea and cans of soda) and come with free refills. The grape tomatoes for the salad were wonderful! I really enjoyed the rolls they had. The pizza was also good, and they will make whatever type pizza you want if you don't see it on the buffet. All is homemade there! It is slow in there right now as I said they only opened a week ago. They have pasta with cheese sauce, alfredo sauce or marinera sauce you can add on top. The dessert brownies were good and gooey! They are opened Mon-Sunday 11-9. They also have a carry out pizza with unlimited toppings for $4.99 plus tax Hope you all go and give them a try! It would be nice to see this business succeed! Hope you all enjoy it as much as I did!
* They would like to advertise in the next newsletter but they just missed this issue that already went to the printer.
